Many folks are experiencing menstrual problems. There is a significant portion of this that is inflammation caused by food sensitivities such as seed and vegetable oil, glyphosate (gluten), sugar, and so on, but there is another large part that I see people overlooking all the time. That substance is known as Myoinositol. The body requires a 50-1 ratio of Myoinositol to D-Inositol. However, for a variety of reasons, the ratio in many women is falling to 1-1, which presents problems.

Most of the ladies I work with who have PCOS or other menstrual disorders notice a significant improvement in pain and flow simply by incorporating this into their diet. Most people can get away with one or two a day; if you do two, do one in the morning and one at night. More often than not, this will be more beneficial than starting estrogen-based medicines like birth control. Birth control can help at times, but it does not appear to be sufficient on its own. When I work on this, we undertake a comprehensive detox to reduce total inflammation in the body before adding myoinositol and working on hormones.

Most of the time, we don’t have to do much. If there is an estrogen dominance problem, I prefer to utilize DIM or anastrozole. I’ve seen doctors use progesterone to “battle estrogen” more often than I’d like, which I find unusual because progesterone converts to estrogen and doesn’t “battle” it like antiestrogens do. Tamoxifen has been shown to assist, but I would still reduce total inflammation, monitor dietary sensitivities, and enhance myoinositol.

If you can’t find a high-quality Myoinositol, I have some on my website.
