Dr. Chalmers’ Parasite Cleanse Protocol

A simple, at-home cleanse built on the same three steps we use in our Frisco clinic: cleanse, balance, then refill.

What Is the Parasite Cleanse Protocol?

Dr. Matt Chalmers developed this protocol from years of running gut and liver cleanse programs with patients at Pillars of Wellness. It pairs a coffee enema made with four of his cleanse formulas, yeast-balance support, and a rebuilding phase with nutrient-dense food and probiotics.

Everything you need is available in our online shop or at the clinic. If you would like a schedule built around your health history, our team can set one up for you.

Three Phases: Cleanse, Balance, Refill

1. Cleanse

A coffee enema made with 2 capsules each of Parastat, Biliven, Paratosin and Tomorrow-FX. Supports the liver, bile flow and a deeper gut cleanse.

2. Balance

Black seed oil or Superior RFA to support a healthy balance of yeast and gut microbes while you cleanse.

3. Refill

Nutrient-dense food plus Superior Probiotic to rebuild the gut with nutrients and beneficial bacteria.

Phase 1: The Cleanse Coffee Enema

This is the centerpiece of the protocol. Dr. Chalmers adds four of his cleanse formulas directly to the coffee so their botanicals are delivered right where the cleanse happens.

What You’ll Need

  • 2 capsules of Parastat: holarrhena, hyssop, olive leaf and fennel, botanicals traditionally used in parasite cleanse formulas
  • 2 capsules of Biliven: artichoke, milk thistle and turmeric to support liver function and healthy bile flow
  • 2 capsules of Paratosin: clove, olive leaf, reishi and hyssop for cleanse and immune support
  • 2 capsules of Tomorrow-FX: Dr. Chalmers’ original liver support formula
  • 2 tablespoons of organic, unflavored, unscented coffee (mold-free preferred)
  • An enema bucket or bag (included in our Coffee Enema Kit)
  • Olive oil or coconut oil for lubrication

Brewing the Coffee: Two Options

Option 1: Standard coffee maker. Open the 8 capsules and add the powders to your coffee pot along with 2 tablespoons of coffee. Brew as normal. The heat helps draw out the botanicals.

Option 2: Grind-and-brew coffee maker. If your coffee maker grinds the beans and then brews, add your coffee beans as usual, open the 8 capsules and empty the powders into the glass coffee carafe, then run the coffee maker like normal. The hot coffee drips onto the powdered supplements and mixes with them properly.

How to Do It

  1. Brew. Use either option above.
  2. Cool and transfer. Let the coffee cool to a safe, comfortably warm temperature. Pour it into your enema bucket, including the herbal powder.
  3. Lubricate and insert. Use olive or coconut oil, then start with about one third of the bucket.
  4. Hold and release. Hold for about 10 minutes, then release into the toilet.
  5. Repeat. Do two more rounds so the full bucket is used across three fills.

What to Expect

  • Many people report less bloating, better digestion and more energy within days.
  • Some people notice visible material in the stool during a cleanse. Many do not, and that is normal.
  • Stay well hydrated before and after each session.

Phase 2: Yeast Balance

A cleanse is a good time to support a healthy balance of yeast in the gut. Dr. Chalmers uses one of two options:

  • Black seed oil: a traditional oil used for centuries to support immune function and gut balance.
  • Superior RFA: his daily gut-balance formula, which includes black cumin seed oil along with oregano, clove, cinnamon and other botanical oils. Typical use is 1 softgel twice a day with breakfast and dinner.

Phase 3: Refill

Clearing the gut is only half the job. The second half is rebuilding it. Dr. Chalmers calls this the Kill & Refill approach.

  • Food: bring nutrient-dense whole foods back in. Dr. Chalmers’ foundation is quality protein such as red meat and beef liver, which deliver the nutrient load the body needs to rebuild.
  • Probiotics: repopulate the gut with beneficial bacteria using Superior Complete Probiotic or Superior Probiotic 40 Billion CFU.

How Often, How Long and Before You Start

If you have a known issue, a coffee enema 2–3 times a week for 3 weeks is often quite helpful. After that, many people do a maintenance enema 2–3 times a month. The right schedule depends on your health history, stress levels and potential for reexposure, so for a plan built around you, call 214-446-5300 or use the form below to have Dr. Chalmers’ team build your plan.

  • Talk with your healthcare provider first if you are pregnant or nursing, have a heart, kidney, bowel or other medical condition, or take prescription medication.
  • Enemas are not recommended for children without a provider’s direction.
  • Stop and contact your provider if you experience pain, dizziness, rectal bleeding or other unusual symptoms.

Parasite Cleanse FAQs

Parasites are one of the most commonly overlooked issues in gut health today. If you have pets, especially dogs and cats, the chances of picking them up are much higher. Standard medical testing for parasites is also notoriously unreliable. This cleanse is designed to help break up biofilms and sweep the places they hide out of your intestines.

Anyone dealing with gut issues such as bloating, gas, or unexplained loose stools or constipation. If you have pets (dogs and cats), it is not a bad plan to clear the gut from time to time.

If you have a known issue, 2–3 times a week for 3 weeks is often quite helpful. To put a specific plan together, it is best to talk with our staff at 214-446-5300.

The goal is to get the oils out of the supplements so they can be delivered through the hepatic portal system to your liver. We do not really want the herb itself. We want the oils that are in the herbs.

Many flavorings are artificial, which works against liver health. Plus, you are taking this rectally, so you do not need to care how it tastes or smells.

No. A coffee maker that grinds the beans for you works great. If you do not have one, you can blend up the beans and add them to hot water. Everything else you need comes in our Coffee Enema Kit.

It is rare. Only about 30% of parasites are visible, so not seeing anything does not mean the cleanse is not working. It is possible you will see something, though. The best advice: if you do not want to see anything, do not look.

RFA is my go-to. Because it is a capsule, it has a better chance of reaching the gut before it opens. I really like black seed oil topically, and people have also reported good results taking it orally.

You can eat a normal low-glycemic diet. Adding organic fermented foods will help restore healthy gut bacteria.

Depending on your stress level, 3–6 weeks is normally enough if you pair it with probiotic- or prebiotic-rich foods. We carry Superior Complete Probiotic and Superior Probiotic 40 Billion CFU.

You can. However, the best and most affordable way is with the coffee enema.

I would not force this on a child, but we do have kids ages 11 and up do this with great results. If you are pregnant or nursing, please call us at 214-446-5300 before starting.

You can begin on your own, but I always recommend discussing it with our staff first.

That depends on the person, their stress levels and their potential for reexposure. Many people complete the protocol and then do a maintenance enema 2–3 times a month.
