Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:05] All right. So as I did some radio interviews, I did a woman’s TV, I think, yesterday. And we were talking about the RFK changes specifically to McDonald’s and stuff like that. And it’s going to be good. Like, I think it’s gonna be a really, really good change, you know, as we start to get less poison or food. We’re going to end up being healthier. The thing I want to make sure that we all understand is that if we remove the glyphosate, great. If we remove the food dyes, great. We remove the fluoride from our water. Fantastic. You know, if we start cooking in tallow instead of coils again, phenomenal. The thing is, is that that doesn’t make you healthy. It makes you less poisoned. So a lot of people what we’re looking at when we start looking at being healthy is really wellness. And people talk all the time like, I want to be well, like I ask people this is whenever people come in, we over goals first, what do you want? Where are you trying to go, this sort of thing? And then like, I want to be healthy to make fantastic. What does that mean to you? Or like, I want to have wellness. Like, what does that mean to you? And I go, I don’t want to be sick anymore. I’m like, okay. That is that is part of it. But that’s not what wellness is.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:01:21] So if you’re if your goal is to just not feel like trash anymore, you’re getting back to zero. Like zero should not be your goal. Like, I get it. Like, we’re all negative five right now. Everybody feels like crap. They’re tired, they hurt, you know, their mental states bad. Like, it’s just, you know, we’re all just kind of slugging through life. And that’s not how you’re designed to be. And they’re like, If I could just have more energy, then everything would be okay. If I could just get to the point where I wasn’t tired all the time. If I could just get back to zero, I’d be okay. That’s not where your goal should be. And so, yeah, taking all this poison out of the food should be really, really good for a lot of people. And I guarantee you that people get pissy because it’s, the that the color of the Blue flute or Froot Loops is not as much south as in Hue. It’s not exactly the same color. And so it makes me angry. Whatever. Rather like I can taste the difference. The dyes have no flavor, taste, no flavor function. People are going to pissy about this, but it is what it is.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:21] But a lot of people are going to start getting healthier like a lot people are going to start noticing their celiac isn’t as bad when the glyphosate is gone. The gluten does play a role. It’s just not as big a role as people think it is. But yeah, there’s a lot of things that people are going to have to know better. The problem is, is that that’s not being healthy. So the other videos, interviews I think were on GOP ones and GOP ones are amazing and they’re super awesome and they’re great tools, but they’re tools. And the problem we get into is that it’s not going to make you healthy. Like unless we start creating healthier lifestyles. And so we start doing the things that produce health, we’re not going to be healthy. This is one of the issues I have with medical doctors calling themselves health care providers. They don’t provide health care at all. Health care is diet, nutrition, supplementation, hormones, sleep, exercise and psychological well-being. That’s what wellness is. That’s what health is. If you come and say, I have a sore throat and here’s an antibiotic that’s not health care, that is that is symptom management. And that’s what they do a really great job of that. I’m not I’m not trying to knock that at all.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:03:26] Managing someone’s diabetes is not the same thing as fixing their diabetes and providing them health care. You know, and it’s funny cause I talked to a medical doctor all the time, like, why don’t you just fix the diabetes? And they look at you all kind of like, like what? Like, they either don’t understand my question or they’re like, Why would I ever do that? It’s possible. They just don’t know how. Because again, to be fair, what what medical school is for is to teach these guys how to use drugs to treat symptoms. That’s legitimately what medical school is. So they’re just not educating that piece. But the thing that we have to understand is that if I want to be healthy, if I want to be well, if I want to have lots of energy for today and tomorrow, if I want to, I’m 75 or 80. If I don’t want to hurt anymore, if I don’t want to be, you know, all messed up, like, you know, it’s just if we want to have a positive, functional movement forward, that’s wellness care. That’s health care, that’s, you know, how am I getting the chemicals into my body to push back against the bad chemicals that are out there and to actually give my body the nutritional needs?
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:32] So one of the things we’re going to see is we get rid of these chemicals is you’re actually going to need less supplementation, which is a phenomenal thing. And that’s coming from the guy who sells assortments. Like I like my the hardest thing I do is try to figure out how we can get the nutrition you need for the few supplements as possible. That is legitimately my big my big the hardest part of my job. And so we’re going to need less. We’re going to need less supplements because a lot of the sudden some giving people are to just just deal with the poison that you’re eating on a daily basis that you don’t even know you’re eating. So it’s going to help in that manner. But the thing is, we’re still going to be very nutrient depleted like the foods we’re eating don’t have the nutrients in them they need. Now we change the USDA guys we like in 10 or 15 years. If everything that RFK is trying to do happens in 10 or 15 years, we’ll be in a really great spot like our kids and our grandkids are going to be really, really beneficial. This we’re not. Plus, we were all poisoned by Covid and a lot of people took the Covid vaccine.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:05:32] So you’ve got that that issue as well. So we’re in a we’re in this whole we’re in this like we don’t have the nutrients we need. We’re not. Exercising where we need to. And the biggest thing is, when I talked to you about I brought this up yesterday about how. Obesity, diabetes and depression all run the same course. And if you look at people, you’re like, What are the what are the main problems we have in this country? Obesity issues, mental health issues. And, you know, just feeling like kind of blur all the time, which is literally the depression, the definition of depression. And so these are the things that, you know, wellness is really trying to push back against. And the thing that you get into is that this is the hardest part is that you kind of have to be walked down this road. It’s not okay, here, go do this and you’ll be well or, you know, implement this and you’ll be fine. It’s funny cause I talk to people and they’re like, How often do you work out? And like, about 90 minutes, six days a week? And they’re like, well, how many coffee intimacy you do? And like, I do three caffeine once a week. And they say how many supplements I take? And they’re like, my gosh, you’re taking a giant amount of supplements. I’m like, Yeah, I could never do that. You can’t do that. Day one.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:44] Like, you know, no one’s going to come in eating the standard American diet, you know, taking, you know, not taking supplements, not working out and go the next day to work to do something where I’m doing or, you know, any of your health, fitness, you know, people, anyone you follow on Instagram who’s actually doing walking the walk and talking the talk you’re the average person is eating to go from where they are today to that level overnight. That’s it’s not it’s never going to happen. So you need to give something to walk you down that road. Hey, what’s the most important thing next? Hey, what’s the most important thing next? And the biggest issue is how do you get this to implement into your life? How do you how do you move these things in?
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:23] And I tell this to people all the time, and it’s kind of funny because you are like the number one goal for people who aren’t working out is to go to the gym. I didn’t say work out. I said, go to the gym. And I’ve talked to people and they’re like, Well, I’ve got to send this email to make do it from the gym. They’re like, What? And I go do it from the gym. They’re like, Well, I won’t be working on it. Like, I don’t care What we’re trying to establish in the first little piece of time is, Are you going to the gym? Are you showing up? Like, well, yeah, but I’m not going to your great work. I send these three emails. Fine. Because once you’ve established between time and time be I’m at the gym. We can figure out later. Hey, now put the emails away. Hey, why don’t you start working out a little bit harder? Hey, why don’t you do this instead of that? Like, once we’ve established, I go to the gym at this time, you’re. That’s it. You’re good. And if that’s one of those things where once you can establish that, that’s what a class like vibe. What I love about my five, I’m so happy that we put this thing together.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:08:19] So via fives and Fresca, if you guys are in Fresca, you guys have to check it out. I work at you a couple of weeks for free or something so you can check it out. This is a big deal for for like New Years. Guys like, don’t spend the money. Go try it out. Come to the office, grab the little two weeks free thing and go check out VO5. But it’s a class. You show up. You do the exercise, you go home. You want to think about it, you have to do anything. But again, you’re showing up. And the biggest pieces that are you going to show up to work out? Are you going to show up to be there? Like just getting there is your primary goal. And I think people get lost in that because they come in, They’re like, well, you know, I didn’t get a really good workout in the first 2 or 3 weeks of you trying to get better. Did you show did you get to the gym? Is that all you did? Did you get two, five, five? Did you get to the spin class? Did you get like, I don’t care how good or how horrible the workout was. Did you just get there? And that’s that’s where a lot of people are missing it because that’s like the very first step. Like, well, I’m not very good with supplements, Mike. Okay. You don’t have to take 25. Take 2 or 3 in the morning. Take 2 or 3 at night.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:19] Just just get started on the routine, building these routines and how to move these routines in and out of your life is really where a lot of health is. And this is the thing people don’t understand. Well, I’m not going to take someone because I don’t want to take. That’s easy. That part is super duper easy. Is the. Are you actually taking them, though? Are you setting the time aside? In the morning I do this and don’t I do this? Here’s my routine. Here’s how I do this. This is when I go to the gym. Finding time in your calendar. Finding time in your life. Finding time in your. The way you do things. That’s the hardest part of health. Once you’ve got that man, you’ve got everything else super easy. The amount of time that people have been going to the gym for 45 minutes and getting crappy workouts, but they went and then those crappy workouts turned into not so crappy workouts and then pretty good workouts and then crushed workouts. That’s how that happens. Like no one goes to the gym. I’ve never been to the gym four minutes ago in the gym, five days a week for an hour and getting my amazing workouts now that I’m with anybody.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:20] So if you’re thinking about like, Hey, in the New Year or today or whatever, like, I’m going to start doing these things. Like. Just this is why it’s so so it’s so much fun for me. And I walk people through this because I feel like I’ve tried this and it’s never worked. I’ve tried. This is never work. I try to go to the gym and I just can’t. I just can’t get it done. I try to take the silence. I just can’t get it done. What have you done to have me walk you through it? Because one of the big things is that find a friend. Like when you go to the gym, they start working out and then start noticing the people start being. Because once you change your circle a little bit, it’s radically more important that that, that that function. So look at your friends. Now this is one of the things we go through as well. Look at your friends who who are your friends, who are healthy, who are your friends that work out hang out with them a little bit more because the people who work out, they’re going to influence you to work out.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:12] It’s a normal thing if you if you hang out with your drinking buddies that you’re like the you have your 5 or 6 buddies. You guys drink all the time, right? And then you wake up one day and go, You know what? I think this drinking is bad for me. I don’t think I’m gonna drink anymore. If you still hang out with your drinking buddies, you’re never going to quit drinking. You know, this is what we talk about. Like, sometimes you have to cut people out of your life because their path and your path diverge. It’s not that they’re bad people or you’re a better person or anything like that. It’s just that your paths diverge. And that’s one of those things. If you want to be healthy, you need to start doing the healthy things and you start like, okay. Don’t get rid of your friends. The friends you work out who embody the lifestyle you now want, hang out with them more. It’s not that you have to cut anybody else out to stay home and hang out with Ted more. Now, if Sue wants to come hang out with you guys at the gym, great. You know, this is where we’re going. Like, this is where my life is going. If you guys want to come with me, I’d love for you to come. But this is where my life’s going. So if you want to come with me, great. If not, I get it.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:12:07] So that’s one of those things that, you know, as you’re starting to walk through this, if you truly decide I want to be healthy, I hate to say this, you’re never going to make it by yourself. You would have made it already if it was something you were going to do by yourself. So get somebody who can who can help walk you through each of the pieces, you know, and then things are going to show up. Things are going to pop up. Hey, this thing makes me nauseous. Hey, this. This thing really hurts my elbow. What do I do now? Or, like, hey, why am I always sore? You know? And so those, you know, the guide is there to walk you through those things like, you should get Holon hooks like one of my guys. He hit me up. He was like, Do my elbows kill me? I don’t know if I can keep doing this workout. And I was like, Have you tried hauling hooks? He’s like, What if I sit on a similar thing? He got him and this is like two weeks ago, and he just hit me back. He was like, My elbow feels great. He’s like, These things are amazing. These are great. Such great workouts with him. It’s like again, he’s like, Why didn’t you tell me before? I you I didn’t think to tell you like, all the gear you’re going to possibly need.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:04] So, you know, it’s one of those things that get the people who can help you walk through these things, you know, meet with them, you know, every every little while. The other great thing about meeting with somebody every little while is it keeps you on point. If you’re just like, okay, I’m doing this all by myself and I’m just going to suck it up and go do these things, you don’t. You just it’s really, really hard. It’s almost impossible to drive yourself to do all the things you need to do when the things you need, need to do. Often times suck. So cardio sucks. Like no one’s like, my gosh, I started doing cardio is the greatest thing ever. Everyone’s like, cardio sucks. Like, like you might love to go out and do the run, but it’s one of those things where most people it’s not a fun thing, but you got to do it like, you know, some of these things.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:13:50] So having somebody walk you through it, it’s really important. The other big thing is that how are you measuring this? Because if you don’t measure it properly, if you don’t have something, be like, Hey, I know you don’t think you’re moving very well, but you’re crushing it like legitimately. You point out all the ways that you’re winning. If you don’t have somebody who can help you do that, you’re going to be terrible. Like I tell this people all the time, the very, very worst way you can ever track your health is with your weight. Because if you gain 5 pounds of muscle and lose 5 pounds of fat over two months, you’re wildly healthier. You’re you’re you’re so much further down the path. I don’t care where your goals actually are, you’re way further down the road. The problem is, is that if you lose 5 pounds of fat and gain 5 pounds of muscle, the scale says you haven’t done anything.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:14:33] So now you’re going in this metric that you’ve put so much hope and faith into is telling you that you suck every day. Like, hey, everything you’re doing is worthless. Nothing you’re doing is helping. Like, why are you even trying? Like, I cannot believe that you’ve given up cake for three weeks and you haven’t lost any weight. Why are you giving up your cake if you’re not going to lose any weight? And this is the thing that I see this. I talk to people all this all the time. I’m like, how is your strength changed? How are your measurements changed? How are your pictures changed? You know, like, how is this, how is this? And they’re like, I didn’t know to do this. I didn’t know how to track this. No one stayed on me about taking my pictures. Like I didn’t know how to do that, right? Like, how am I supposed to measure? Where am I supposed to measure, like, all these other things? But those are the metrics you track.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:15:15] Like, I had a lady the other day, she never meant to lose weight because she was running on the calories. Nonsense, moved over her macro system, taught her how the hormones worked, and now she starts losing weight and she calls me up and she’s like, I’m so excited. She’s like, I’ve lost 7 pounds this month. She’s never lost anything like this before. I feel so great. And I was like, Hey, didn’t you tell me that your weights have gone up? She’s like, yeah, I feel like I’m a lot stronger. She was like, I was at Twelves number 15, which 12 to 15 doesn’t sound like a whole lot. It’s a gigantic jump. Look at the percentage of that. That’s a giant jump. And she was like, yeah, she’s my weight. She got up a lot and I was like, How are your measurements? And she’s like, My measurements are actually down quite a bit. And I was like, I need you to understand something. Just because the scale says you lost 7 pounds doesn’t mean you lost 7 pounds. In fact, you probably lost 10 or 12 pounds of fat because you’re gaining muscle. You can’t go up in strength without gaining muscle tissue.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:16:08] Muscle weighs quite a bit more than fat does per cubic centimeters. So if your measurements are down and your weight is down, but your strength is up, like you probably lost about 10 or 12 pounds of fat. And she started crying and it was like, you’re not tracking these things, right? If you don’t track these, you can’t see the ROI. And the ROI is my favorite piece because people will come in all the time. And then this is that progression as we walk through and they’ll be like, I don’t need a six pack, I don’t need a bigger arms, I just need a little bit more energy. And of course we set a plan for that. And then months, six weeks, two months. Then they come in, they go, Hey, remember I said I didn’t need a six pack? And I’m like, Yeah, like, what would be the plan if I wanted to get the six pack? And this is my favorite conversation of any conversation I have with people ever. And the reason is because they were like, Hey, this is what they were. They communicate this to you or not. Whether they know this in their head or not, this is what’s actually happening.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:17:04] They said, Hey, the work I put in. Give is giving me such a return that I’m willing to put more, more effort at the time, the energy, the money, everything all of a sudden putting into my health is giving me enough return that I’m willing to invest more into me, into not me, but into themselves. And I’m willing to invest more into myself to move myself further down the road. Because now there’s things that I think are possible that I literally didn’t think were possible before. Because if you if you thought the six pack was possible, I’d be like, give me the plan for the six pack. The people come in, they’re like, I. That’s not possible. That’s too much work. I don’t want to go down that road. I just don’t want to feel miserable anymore. And that’s the funny thing is like, that’s my goal. Like, my goal is to get to zero and not be miserable anymore. All right, cool. And so you get to zero and you’re like, this was actually possible. Well, what else is possible? Could I actually do the six pack thing to actually get the bigger arms, to actually get the bigger rounder, but can actually do the things I’ve actually really wanted my whole life. I just have not. I just didn’t believe I could make that happen. Yeah, that’s what is. And so that’s the ROI.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:18:09] So that’s why it’s so important if you have not just if you’re 35 or 40 and you’re not where you need to be and you’ve ever done that New Year’s resolution thing where I’m going to get healthy and then you just didn’t get a coach, get a trainer, get somebody who knows your hormones, who knows how to put the diet together and get somebody who knows how to do the exercise and do the supplementation and do the mental work and get you like gets with a team of people or a person, but get with a group of people and walk through it. Because if you really want to get healthy, if you could do it by yourself, you’ve already done it straight up. And that’s the thing. And it’s funny because people like, Well, you did it. I have a giant team of people. I work with pro bodybuilders, I’ve got pro athletes, I’ve got chemists. I have, you know, I talk to the guys who make all the supplements, like we talk about how we’re going to tweak them and stuff like that. They give me information like I have a gigantic team that I work with on my health. Like this doesn’t all just come out of my head.
Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:19:05] So you guys need to get your team together no matter what you want to do. So, you know, that’s the thing. If you’re trying to get healthy, you know, give us a call pillars want us dot com Chalmers want to sit com either one of them and we’ll help you guys start putting everything together like I already have the team so if you need a team come to us. I’ve got people for, you know, Semaglutide seven JLP. Once I’ve got four hormones, I’ve got I have a Udall’s a therapist. Because your mind is so, so important. I’ve got an op teams, I’ve got, you know, we’ve got everybody together because I’ve been who do I need? I’ve got surgeons, I’ve got everything we need because I put these things together kind of for me. And now you guys have access to the same team I use.

Do this and then do this. And then do this. And before you know it, you’re. You’re so far down the road that you’re like, my gosh, this is where I’ve always wanted to be. The RFA changes are going to help a lot, but they’re not going to get you where you want to go. They’re going to really, really help, but they’re not going to get you all the way down the road.
