Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:00:04] the question I got was, what is the thing that was irritating, about the, medical model? Diabetes is probably the one. I talk about this all the time. I mentioned how, most local doctors are either either don’t know what they’re doing or they’re literally the worst human beings in the world. Which is the whole definition of why I tell you that most of the issues we have with the medical community are not the medical doctors you’re seeing. Those are for the majority of those are great people. Their education is terrible. Which comes from the FDA, the CDC, the NIH, the W.H.O., and all from sort companies that run those. So the biggest issue of this is like, is your diabetes. So most people go to dinner, technologists are supposed to be a hormone specialist. And they’ll talk about diabetes or thyroid. And so the only two things that I work on, or that are the general practitioner, the general practitioner will pull blood. Like, I see these labs all the time. Designer people come in and they’re like, yeah, I get diabetes, mother. And they bring them in and they show me their labs, and I have never seen.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:01:14] And I said, they don’t do it. I have never seen anybody primary care or archeologists is treating them for diabetes pull their insulin. Ever. I’ve never seen, again. I don’t have, I’m just saying I’ve never seen it. So if you got diabetes or if you’re worried about it and your doctor doesn’t pull your insulin, don’t argue with them. They don’t know what they’re doing. Don’t ask them to do something. They don’t have to. But if you’re not pulling your insulin, they’re not training your diabetes. Diabetes is an insulin resistance problem. And a lot of times they’ll use insulin to treat it. But if you don’t pull the insulin, I don’t know why you would give a hormone if you’re not going to take a baseline on it to assess whether you’re doing is working or not. So the fact that you prescribe insulin but not pull it is also, I think, questionable. The thing is, is that insulin resistance is what causes diabetes. Not blood sugar. Blood sugar has is a secondary function to insulin. Which is always funny because like, I’ll get I got guys and carnivore guys and keto guys who are cleaning up their diet and we’ll do fasting, bloggers and the like with, like, fasting glucose, all those 120, 825 and the doctors like, well, you’re diabetic has nothing to do with your glucose levels. It has entirely with your insulin levels because a lot of those guys, your body creates your own glucose.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:02:34] So you can’t be like, you know, glucose in your blood is the problem. It’s how your body’s using. So when you pull insulin, you want it really under ten. Like I like it under seven, but you want another ten minutes fasting. When we start seeing levels in the teens, that’s high insulin resistance. We see the 20s. You basically like that. The reason for this is because insulin is the hormone your body uses to shuttle, sugar from your from your. That’s what you’re eating all the way through into the cells and tissues, your body. It’s also it creates fat. You need carbohydrates to register your sugar. Sugar increases insulin. And since your storage hormone goes the muscles from glycogen, liver to glycogen, which the liver, salt, liver turns into fat. That’s how you that’s how we store fat. And that’s why people say carbohydrates, straight fat, which is not necessarily true for sugars, but it is what it is. So, the easiest way to treat diabetes is to treat insulin resistance in the way you treat insulin resistance is you cut the sugars down, not necessarily the carbohydrates. Fiber. Fantastic. But the sugars. So, that’s that’s the way that you fix it.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:03:42] So if these doctors were cared about, you know, making the car payments, they wouldn’t put insulin and they’d give you insulin and give you metformin. They give you those things. If they care about fixing your problem, which they would do, is they go, all right, here’s what we’re gonna do. We’re going to go in, I’m going to teach you about glycemic function. What you should I eat? I teach you what causes the sugars in your blood glucose to go up. And then by stripping out these sugars, we’re going to reduce the body’s utilization of insulin, thus letting insulin receptors relax and call down and heal. And then over time, usually takes 2 to 4 months or three. By that time, the insulin receptors have healed and regenerated and reset. And you can start introducing more natural, sugars back in your fight. You can actually reverse most type two diabetes, just like going just by going to, like, more of a keto carnivore, style diet. Now, there’s a there’s a split on that one I want people to consider carnivore. So I want to drive that one that I consider carnivore. The actual definition prior to salt and pepper. The only two things you to use, water, assuming you’re drinking. And if it doesn’t come from an animal, it doesn’t count.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:04:50] So. You can count honey on a carnivore because it comes from insects if you want to. I’m not going to argue that one too hard. But avocados and mushrooms and stuff like that and onions and stuff like that. Not part of or not. So like my diet, which is lots of steak, lots of eggs, smoked turkey, you know. But I have, onions and mushrooms and those little Cheeto tortillas I. That’s not. That’s cute. That’s Quito, not cardboard. Scrotum is very difficult. It is to sale. You can do it if you really want to. Most people do it as a as a detox or a cutting. They used for that. And so they’ll do it for 2 or 3 for about five months. They’ll come off it. They’ll go to more of a keto diet and fight. But when we’re talking specifically about diabetes, the thing we’re trying to control is the sugars that are in our blood and the way that we control the sugars in our bodies. We control them via what we eat. Because, again, the main reason that your body is producing is going to create this big gap, a window in what’s going on. So if you always have. So the reason fascinates important is because you’re fasting since 20. That means your body is producing 20 units of insulin all the time at now. So when there’s no food, your body is like here’s 20in insulin. And so anything that’s in your body can be sucked in and say it’s going to go into that system. And to me, that’s why the system is on that cell.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:06:20] So when you start restricting the things that create the sugars, but basically the carbohydrates, you start restricting carbohydrates, your body has to start making the sugar for you. You always have to have blood sugar. So that’s a that’s a big piece of really that’s understand. But you’re right. So it’s so critical that your body will do it by itself. It’s called gluconeogenesis. So the idea that we have to consume carbohydrates is 100% right. We don’t have to consume carbohydrates, ever. Your body will make all the sugar it needs out of the, proteins you’re eating. That’s the process within the juices, which, by the way, requires your body to burn fat or utilize fat as a power source. So the reason why people on keto diet some carnivore diets lose weight, lose fat so quickly is because your body’s using it for a fuel source. That’s how it works. And so instead of using the sugar for a fuel source, it will lose. It will create your own sugar. So what ends up happening is you cut all the sugars out of your diet. And so your body now, I guess the point where it’s like, ooh, we have to have sugar for the blood and more or less for the brain. For the eye. There’s certain things that have to have glucose, your blood staying in one, certain mitochondria.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:07:32] So what ends up happening is that your liver takes the proteins, strips them apart, goes through. Look on the eugenicists. I’ll say the chemistry on that one, which is like, we’re going to ingest that new sugar into the liver for glycogen storage. And then your liver drops the glycogen storage. It has the sugar. It’s stored into the blood maintaining a level even level. Point, which is why people who run retired have good blood sugar levels, which is like an where a keto carnivore have really good blood sugar levels, is because your body’s using natural processes. It was designed with to create the sugar for to run your body. Which is why the keto or the carnivore diets are substantially healthier for you than diets that are providing you sugars, especially processors. So that’s the real way we’re going to talk about, you know, carnivore being better than, you know, the one of the best diet you can for, how’s it going? It’s it’s going to give you every single nutrient the body requires. It’s just not as easy, convenient or tasty. I like I like mushrooms. I like Italian seasoning, but you can’t even use a true carnivore diet. So I’m a I’m a real glycemic. More keto style. That’s my preferred. But if that’s if the choices are like veganism or carnivore, you’re going to be a lot healthier with carnivore in the RV, because that gets into a lot of other aspects. Your body doesn’t want protein.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:09:03] Again, when you start getting into the actual chemistry of it, you write as one protein. I want, you know, acids. This is the big crux of it was like, well, you get plenty of protein in veganism, but you can’t get a lot of very specific amino acids, tryptophan as well. Once it’s hard to get, you can get it from soybeans. Soybeans have 97% of them are modified. They all have glyphosate on them. And there are massive endocrine issues. So they that massive phyto estrogen, which some people can handle a lot from. Okay. So soybeans are kind of off the off the options for a lot of people. But, with carnivore, because you have access to the entire animal, not just say you can get every single nutrient the body requires, through carnivore. If you start out again like a real ogi, keto piece of it. That’s the healthiest diet, because now they know they can get the mushrooms, the onions, the asparagus, you know, the cardoz and all the, you know, the berries and stuff, which makes the diet delicious and fun like that. But you’re also getting every single chemical nutrient that the your big meat machine requires, right?

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:10:08] So, that’s where those are. But if you’re, if you’ve had diabetes and people are not pulling your insulin levels and they won’t pull them, because even if you ask them, like I said, don’t ask, don’t ask your doctor to pull something they don’t understand. They’re not willing to work with, that’s your problem. And so, you know, maybe you can get blood test done by somebody else or somewhere else. We put insulin on every single lab. I don’t care if it’s a normal hormone lab or if it’s just a health lab, if it’s a lyme’s lab, or if it’s, you know, pregnancy labs, like, whatever we’re doing, whatever specific thing we’re looking at. I always tell insulin because it’s so hypercritical to every single thing that we that we work on. Dementia, Alzheimer’s, any neurodegenerative disease, you know, anything going on in your head, arms, concussions, anything long term with your head? Do you need to put your insulin, anything with your got anything with energy levels, anything with, you know, long term health. If you’re worried about cancer, you’ve got to call your insulins. Because unless you understand metabolic function, what’s going on inside your body to create energy, to maintain energy, healthy energy levels, which is an ATP thing, not a calorie thing. You’re going to be you’re going to be in a bad place health wise. So, that’s it’s probably one of the biggest things I see. Not old, that is affecting giant amounts of people’s health. So if you, if you had diabetes, if you’re worried about your health and you look at your lives, your doctor told me not going insulin. You’re missing a gigantic part of what you need to worry about for your health.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:11:43] So, that’s probably the biggest thing I see. But again, it’s because this is how the medical doctors are tough. It’s not that they’re trying to be sneaky and trying to, not do this. That’s really sick. And so, like, that’s not what they’re doing. Like, the vast majority of the medical doctors they’re working with do care about you. They do want you healthy. They do. You want these things to work. The problem is that they were taught basically by guys who are heavily influenced by the pharmaceutical company, how to set the protocols. Okay. How long are your doctors do this? They teach you to do it this way, and then they teach you to do it that way. And all the doctors are like, oh, I went to medical school. I learned how to do all these things, and this is what I’m going to do. The problem is what they were taught. They were taught things to sell drugs, not to fix the people. Which is where we get all the, you know, ever since I was like, oh, you should be upset and gross. There’s cholesterol is horrible for you. Now that’s how your brain is made. It’s how your heart works. Now the others are.

Dr. Matt Chalmers [00:12:39] Your hormones are May. But again, hormones are not something that medical doctors are taught much on. So that’s basically if you got diabetes and I pointed insulin, you guys are not fixing your insulin issues, which means you’re not gonna see diabetes issues. So that’s why I think it’s most of your attention. And it’s always funny because, like, okay, guys, in four, we had a guy who’s 90, he had major dementia issues and having issues walking around, and we started working on it. We tweaked a bunch of stuff and we changed his diet. And within like 30 days, his dimensions greatly calmed down. You can function again. Family was can be like, you can grow as human stuff. He can feed himself. You can get to walk around with you. We can have conversations again. And it’s just, yeah, if you feed the body the way it’s supposed to be fed, it works pretty well.
