Katie is a graduate of Azusa Pacific University where she received her BA in Psychology.  She then went on to receive her MA in Counseling Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from the University of San Francisco.  Currently, she is a Counseling Psychology Doctoral Candidate at Texas Woman’s University.  Katie is a member of the Asian American Psychological Association (AAPA).

Katie is committed to working with teens and adults through issues related to stress, self-esteem, academic challenges, anxiety, depression, life transitions, trauma, identity and self-concept, relationship challenges, and emotional boundaries.  Prior to joining FCW team, Katie worked within both the middle and high school setting providing academic and crisis support to students and later worked in the field of non-profit management.  She is passionate about working with clients from diverse backgrounds; addressing dynamics around equity, multiculturalism, and intersectionality.

Katie is extremely passionate about the power that a therapeutic space and, more importantly, a therapeutic relationship can have in one’s life.  Through creating an atmosphere of empathy, warmth, and connection, Katie hopes to empower individuals towards attaining greater joy in their life, providing them hope through adversity, and strengthening one’s interpersonal relationships.
