Stress is one of the most challenging things we face in our life. The truth is that specific stress is necessary for us to grow and evolve. However, we all must have a spot to decompress and breathe away from the stress. The other day, I had a patient suffering from high blood pressure and exhaustion. He wanted to discuss hormones and nutrition. The issue was that they were not going to assist.

The problem was that he had nowhere to unwind, relax, and escape the tension. He was under engineering and customer stress at work. When he got home, things got even worse because his wife was the source of most of his stress. His health had deteriorated for years, and he had no idea what to do. He began crying when I asked him what it would be like if he went home and there was no one there, and he could rest and breathe. He stated that he had often considered it and that the thought felt nice. It was far past time for this man to get a divorce.

We commonly talk about men abusing women, but it also happens the other way around. No man or woman should have to live in a home that is physically or psychologically killing them. If your relationships are causing you pain, walking away is not only appropriate, but it is frequently the best option. When someone is allergic to mold in their home, they must leave so that the mold does not continue to kill them.

This time is no exception. Seek counseling and assistance, but keep in mind that leaving is always a possibility. Never stay in a risky or harmful place.
