I have no idea what will be thrown at us in the coming years, but from what I have heard, it won’t be good. That, I believe, makes it a perfect moment to take stock, look about, and truly lean into what we are grateful for. If you are satisfied with your health, that is fantastic. Examine what you are doing now to ensure you have stocked up and are prepared.  If you have a wonderful family, consider what keeps you going and plan for it.

But the most important thing to remember is your mind. Our mindset is what keeps us going. Prepare for products to become more expensive and challenging to find soon. Plan for what you must do and how you will care for your family if circumstances worsen. I know it is gloomy and unpleasant to play this mental game, but an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of treatment. Making some preparations now will help keep your thoughts on track and alleviate some of the regrets you may feel in the future.

Begin focusing on the positive immediately.

Begin waking up and looking for ways to be grateful for right now. Write down what you are grateful for and what you are doing to help those things thrive. The more we recognize what makes us happy, safe, and valuable, the more we can focus on what matters. Practicing thankfulness daily helps you run your day with a more optimistic approach and helps us notice the excellent things in our lives.

If you are counting your blessings and you think of someone, tell them. It may be something they need to hear right now, but I am confident it will benefit them in the future. Even if things do not go much worse than they are now, finding something to be grateful for and telling others how much you appreciate them is a terrific way to live.
