We all want to be great, whether we admit it or not. The problem is that it appears to be a lot of work, which it is. When we see the size of the mountain, we often lose interest in climbing it. The solution is to take small steps. Be a little bit better tomorrow than you are today, and you will soon be the person you desire. The majority of the changes we desire are simply on the other side of the decision. It is critical that people begin working out within the first 30 days. Those first 30 days have nothing to do with building your body and everything to do with building your mind.

Go every single day without fail, get a rushed workout if you must, but go every day you have to, no matter what. If you are sick, if you are dying, if it is raining or cold, just leave. Tell your mind that this is what we are doing right now. Take charge and begin telling your body and mind what will happen. Your body and mind will argue, but I promise you that no matter how loudly your brain and body say no, you can tell them to shut up and do it anyway. Get a coach if you need one.

If you’ve done everything you can on your own and are still stuck, find someone to help you get better. Everyone I know whom I respect as a great leader in their field can name at least five people who have helped them grow. They frequently paid a large sum of money for the advice as well. They chose to grow. They wanted it badly enough to ask for help, get help, and then act on the advice they received. Do whatever it takes to improve.

The hardest and most important part is making that decision. Do you truly want to improve? If that is the case, you will have to work. Why are you here if you do not want to get better?
